Not All Cheap Sunglasses Are Cheaply Made

Before you buy cheap sunglasses, consider these factors:
- Are the lenses impact-resistant? Ideally, you want any pair to hold up to normal wear and tear. As long as the lenses are shatterproof, they should last for a reasonable length of time.
- Are they knockoffs or imitations? Be very careful about supporting the counterfeit industry – you don’t want to accidentally buy illegal knockoffs and imitations. Instead, look for cheap sunglasses that are similar in styling to the big brand names, but that don’t carry the designer’s private logo. Remember, it’s okay to buy replicas that don’t violate copyright laws, but it’s not okay to buy counterfeit goods.
- What kind of UV protection is offered? There is no point in buying fashionable cheap sunglasses that offer zero protection from the sun’s rays. You want to purchase ones with lenses that offer 98 to 100 percent protection. UV 400 lenses provide total protection.
- Are they stylish? No one wants to wear a trend that went out of style ten years ago, but style is subjective. If you offer sunglasses for resale, it’s smart to offer a diverse range of styles so that your buyers can decide what’s fashionable. Some people simply look better in classic designs, while others want to follow the current trends, like big black frames or rhinestone shades.
Cheap sunglasses are simply economical because they don’t have the markings of a famous designer. But for savvy shoppers, it doesn’t matter what logo is or isn’t present – price matters more. As consumers become more vigilant about their spending money, luxury sunglasses are no longer a wise option.
Economy is in and luxury is out for anyone with a realistic household budget. While everyone needs sunglasses, no one needs luxury sunglasses. Luxury is a want, not a need. Smart consumers know the difference between wants and needs, and cheap sunglasses will do just fine.
